Record Turnout as Over 20,000 Party Cadres Attend DCC 1 Interdistrict Meeting in Chitungwiza
Cde Dr Tagwirei donates 80 boreholes, US$200,000 Empowerment Fund, and 12,500 Christmas hampers
More than 20,000 ZANU PF cadres filled the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex for the DCC 1 Interdistrict Meeting, a landmark event organized by the Harare Province to provide feedback on resolutions from the 22nd National People’s Conference held in Mutare in October 2025.
The meeting, chaired by Cde Masimirembwa, brought together a high-powered delegation of senior Party leaders, including Politburo Members Cde CZ Tavengwa, Cde Omega Hungwe, Cde Douglas Mahiya, Cde Tendai Chirau, and Cde Andy Mhlanga.
Also in attendance were Central Committee Members, among them the newly co-opted Cde Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Cde Taka Mashonganyika, alongside Harare Provincial Executive Members and DCC 1 leadership.
Several Party affiliates participated in the proceedings, including Concord Young Women in Business, Mapositori for ED, Young Women for ED, and Pastors for ED, reflecting the broad-based and inclusive character of the revolutionary movement.
During the session, Politburo members delivered detailed feedback on the resolutions adopted at the 22nd National People’s Conference, including the key resolution calling for the extension of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s leadership to 2030, in recognition of his transformative leadership and vision under the Second Republic.
In a powerful gesture of empowerment and solidarity, Cde Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei announced the donation of 80 solarized boreholes to improve access to clean water across communities, as well as the establishment of a US$200,000 Empowerment Fund to support the Party’s four wings — the Main Wing, Women’s League, War Veterans League, and Youth League.
He further pledged to deliver 12,500 Christmas food hampers to ensure that Party members and communities enjoy a prosperous festive season.
The electrifying event was punctuated by musical performances from some of Zimbabwe’s top artists, including Enzo Ishall, Sniper Storm, Baba Harare, Chillmaster, Ishan, and Musicians for ED leader TiGonzi, who kept the crowd entertained with songs celebrating patriotism, unity, and loyalty to the revolutionary cause.
The massive turnout and the energy displayed at the event underscored the strength, unity, and grassroots mobilisation capacity of ZANU PF Harare Province, as the Party continues to consolidate its dominance ahead of future national programmes and elections.
