PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA LAUNCHES CENSUS COUNTDOWN

ZANU PF President and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa this week launched the Census countdown which is set to take place next month.
The exercise is meant to inform on the current population statistics for better informed decisions.
Speaking during the launch at the State House, President Mnangagwa said the digital 2022 Census will help the country utilize the existing labour force.
“Zimbabwe’s economic growth and development requires full and optimal utilization of the existing labour force. Through the upcoming census, Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency ZimStat will provide the relevant, accurate and reliable statistics on the size, composition and skills of our labour force,” President Mnangagwa said.
“Thus a census enables Government to make evidence based decisions as it provides as it provides information on size, distribution and age structure of the population. On that basis, Government can plan for social services delivery. My Government therefore stands ready to address any gaps that the census data will reveal and to work towards reducing unemployment.”
