Zimbabwe Intergrated Traders Association ZITA has vowed to help the ruling Government create millionaires in line with the NationalDevelopment Strategy 1 NDS1.

This was said during a meeting held in Harare this week by President of the Association Cde Robert Bhamu.

“President Cde E.D Mnangagwa has vowed to create millionaires during his tenure in office and has been creating many opportunities to enable this process. We as ZITA must therefore help achieve this vision by also creating millionaires. Let us utilize the internet and other opportunities available to do this.”

Speaking at the same meeting Dr Davison Gomo said the tragedy about the things being done by indigenous people is their prioritisation of foreign products.

“We talk about the things being done by indigenous people but the tragedy is that some of our products especially the clothes we were are not local products. We need to change our mindset and fill in the gaps that are there,” Dr Gomo said.

“The question is how do we fill in the gaps that were created when the economy collapsed. We should have knowledge of what was driving the economy, what gaps were created and create the opportunities.”

Speaking at the same occasion Cde Anastancia Ndlovu who was representing the ZANU PF’s Economic Affairs Department said there is need for ZITA to explore the opportunities available.

“We meet at a time when we celebrate the independence of this country that was brought about by the sacrifices of our fallen heroes. It is also at a time when the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF Cde E.D Mnangagwa has enunciated that in order to achieve vision 2030 the country is leaving noone and no place behind. We must therefore be guided by the need for transformation and explore the opportunities which are available,” Cde Ndlovu said.

“We must think about how we can motivate someone who is not in business to get into business and the one already in business to go to the next level and go beyond the borders.

“Let’s start small and grow. Let’s embrace what we have, rebrandand make the quality that can compete.”

The meeting was held under the theme “Acceleration of the small business owners and entrepreneurs in line with NDS1”.
