ZANU PF National Political Commissar Cde Mike Bimha says no form of political violence will be tolerated in the election reruns scheduled for this weekend.

Following the decision by the Politburo to have reruns in five places, vying candidates will once again battle it out to represent the ruling Party in the Harmonized Elections slated for this year.

Speaking during a press briefing this Thursday, Cde Bimha encouraged the voters to go out in their numbers and vote for their preferred candidate.

“I would want to appeal to our members and constituencies that I have mentioned to come in their numbers and exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their own choice. I appeal to them to do so peacefully. I have no doubt in my mind that they will do so that they will elect the candidate of their choice,” he said.

Cde Bimha added that the concerned candidates in the said reruns will have to conform to the code of conduct of face disqualification.

“All the candidates concerned will also be here at the Party Headquarters so that we brief them on our expectations of their conduct. We brief them on our expectations of the conduct of their supporters.”

The National Political Commissar added that they will sign documents as evidence of their commitment to violence free elections. In the event that violence erupts however, candidates will be disqualified.
