ZANU PF National Political Commissar Cde Mike Bimha says security vetting of received Curriculum Vitaes is currently on course as the Party prepares to meet the deadline set for its primary elections.
The primary elections will allow the Party to put its best foot forward in the Harmonized Elections slated for this year.
Zimbabwe Elections Commission ZEC is currently conducting a blitz with political parties rushing to get their unregistered members into the voters roll.
Speaking during a press briefing today, Cde Bimha noted that there was an overwhelming response from members who submitted their CVs for the various positions among them Senatorial and Member of Parliament.
“Now that the submissions have been made, the Security Department has now commenced on the vetting exercise which they are going to do from now onwards. Because of the time constraints, we now have to work 24 hours round the clock to make sure that we meet the deadline,” Cde Bimha said.
“We anticipate that after that tomorrow after 5pm we will have a special committee that looks into the complaints to meet to look into these complaints one by one and make their recommendations and suggestions.”
Cde Bimha noted that the National Elections Directorate will meet the Principals and brief them on the progress made upon which the next processes will follow.
Meanwhile logistical arrangements into the transportation of ballot papers are being done in order to facilitate a smooth flow of the elections.
