ZANU PF Secretary for External Relations Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi says the Communist Party of China CPC enjoys the full confidence of the people and that that Party’s 20th National Congress will be a reflection of a democratic process.

This he said during an interview in which he reflected on the relationship between ZANU PF and the CPC.

The 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party will be held in Beijing on 16 October 2022 with 2,300 delegates expected to attend representing the Party’s estimated 90 million members.

“CPC has always been our friend and has transformed China into the second largest economy in the world. China has not been selfish to enjoy by themselves but shared their experience with African countries and transformed the world with the emphasis on mutual benefit,” Cde Mumbengegwi said.

“This has enabled pre-industrial countries based on the Chinese model whose basic tenants of social justice are that the welfare of the people must always be paramount.

“ZANU PF taking a leaf from China has adopted the important concept of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. President and First Secretary of ZANU PF Cde E.D Mnangagwa is leaving no place and no person behind in this development agenda as we build our country brick upon brick, stone upon stone.”

Cde Mumbengegwi also noted that the developments and transformation in China over the years which have occured so rapidly and are breathtaking are inspiring and wished that the CPC’s 20th National Congress will go well.

“As a democratic organisation, decisions are made by agreement with no imposition. We are confident that the CPC’s 20th National Congress will go well as the Party enjoys the full confidence of the Chinese people.”
