Chitepo School of Ideology Principal Cde Munyaradzi Machacha says the Zimbabweans must cultivate skills ideal for the building of their own country.

Speaking in Harare at the official opening of a five day skills training workshop organised by the School, Cde Machacha noted that it is important to empower men and women who know the value of their country.

“This training is in line with President and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa’s vision of achieving a middle income economy by 2030 to which he emphasizes that the country is built and ruled by its own people,” Cde Machacha said.

“The survival of those willing to use their hands has opened opportunities for many people while others have suffered because of their refusal to embrace programmes brought about by ZANU PF. When we came up with indigenisation and the Land Reform among other programmes, the opposition discouraged many people from participating and many of these people are suffering now because they have no capital and do not even know where to start from.”

He encouraged the participants to diversify their products so that they do not flood the markets and get losses adding that quality should be consistent.

At least 20 participants from various zones in Harare are being trained in crocheting, knitting and sewing among other hand skills
