ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Cde Obert Mpofu says it is hardyfooly to ththe change of a colour in politics does not translate to the amassing of power.

This follows the launch of a new political party by embattled Nelson Chamisa ditching red to pick yellow in process, after he failed to gain control of MDC Alliance.

Speaking during the ZANU PF Policy and Coordinating meeting held this week, Cde Mpofu noted that ZANU PF endures beyond the trending.

“Comrades, our resounding victory in this election rests on our collective effort. Therefore, all Departments will be called to account for their contributions to our consolidation of political influence in our Wards and Constituencies. At this point, we are all reminded of our fundamental reason of existence, like any other political party, the mandate to service delivery comes with the obvious objective to consolidate power and obliterate opposition manoeuvres in advancing imperialist interests. Each Department’s functional output must be felt in the cell and in the branch. We are a party of pragmatic interaction with the aspirations of our people,” Cde Mpofu said.

“On that note, we remain unfazed with the rebranding of the already factional retarded opposition parties. However, we are unmoved by the insinuations of those colleagues in the opposition who assume that the frenzied appropriation of a particular party colour symbol and registering tonnes of hashtags on social media translates to capture of state power.

“You will recall that on many occasions I have said, and I am repeating it now, ‘Hashtags come and go, but ZANU PF endures beyond the trending. We are the trend-setters. Therefore, we are not worried about which party wears what, when and how? Instead, we are worried about the numbers we are adding into our already existing structures ahead of the 26 March and the 2023 Elections.”
