ZANU PF’s Acting National Spokesperson Cde Mike Bimha says the 19th National People’s Conference theme speaks into the thrust of the Party and Government.
This he said in an interview to mark the countdown to this year’s Conference being held virtually.
The Party is working tirelessly to ensure a flawless and technologically sound ten Province real time event that marks the beginning of and perhaps many more such meetings to come.
“The theme talks about the Party and Government’s thrust on economic development, so that we continue to vigorously grow and develop our agriculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism, services sectors, e.t.c,” Cde Bimha said.
“We intend to modernize our economy in order to be more productive and more efficient by using advanced technology.
“In pursuant to all of the above, we need to align our activities to vision 2030 which points towards a middle income economy as well as achieving inclusivity.”
Speaking about the preparedness of the Party towards the Conference, the Party’s Acting Spokesperson reiterated that there’s so much excitement about this year’s Conference.
“In our last progress review meeting, most of the Provinces were almost ready with a few Provinces that require fine tuning of their preparations. We are excited about this as it is in recognition of the current times of Covid-19,” he said.
Cde Bimha noted that this “year’s Conference coincides with the SADC Anti-Sanctions day and the Party is already working on a programme to ensure that we play our part in calling for the removal of the illegally imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe.”
Cde Bimha also added that in “view of the notable successes by both the Party and Government, we are certain that we will exceed the five million membership target.”
