By Tinashe Mukori

HARARE– The ruling party, ZANU PF, has reaffirmed its commitment to discipline and unity by taking decisive action against members accused of misconduct and actions deemed detrimental to the Party’s values. Speaking at a press conference held at ZANU PF Headquarters, the Party’s Secretary for Legal Affairs, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, outlined a series of disciplinary measures taken against several individuals.

Among those expelled from the Party are Blessed Geza, Gifford Gomwe, Kudakwashe Gopo, Godwin Gomwe, and Victor Manungu, who were charged with various offenses, including factionalism, gross indiscipline, and undermining the Party through social media. Cde Chinamasa described these actions as a direct attack on the Party’s leadership and a violation of its principles.

Cde Kudakwashe Damson, the Harare Provincial Political Commissar, was suspended for three years for election manipulation, abuse of office, and insubordination. Meanwhile, Calisto Bangu has been summoned to Party Headquarters to answer charges leveled against him by Masvingo Province. Blessing Kambumu, accused of creating a fake social media account and insubordination, will remain a Party member but has been barred from holding any position for the next three years.

In response to growing concerns over social media misuse, ZANU PF announced the development of a Social Media Policy in collaboration with the Commissariat, Legal, Science, and Information Departments. Going forward, all Party-affiliated groups will require approval, and administrators will be held accountable for content shared within them. The Party has also introduced new technology to detect ghost accounts and curb online indiscipline.

ZANU PF has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on any form of misconduct, warning that any member found engaging in activities that undermine the Party will face expulsion. The latest disciplinary measures highlight the Party’s commitment to maintaining order and ensuring loyalty within its ranks.
