More than 500 apostolic faith female congregates graduated following a one-day skills training programme held by ZANU PF Women’s League in Harare this Thursday.
Speaking during the colourful graduation ceremony held at the City Sports in Harare, the Secretary of Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona challenged the women to be self-reliant and work to build Zimbabwe as enunciated by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
The graduation follows a series of training programmes by the ZANU PF Women’s League aimed at empowering the women and ensuring they contribute meaningfully to the growth of the economy.
“You women need to know that you are very important. You have undergone this training so that you play your part in building Zimbabwe. We want commodities to be made by you so that we can be able to establish factories,” Cde Chinomona said.
“As we make these products, let us make sure that we work with Standards Association of Zimbabwe SAZ so that our products have standards. Let’s also diversify and not make the same products.”
She encouraged them to love one another and be united adding that the female war veterans fought for their freedom.
“Let us love each other and do away with the spirit of hatred. I want to remind you that the women who went to war did so in order for you to enjoy this freedom for that reason, let’s go and vote resoundingly for ZANU PF and for President E.D Mnangagwa on 23 August.”
The Women’s League donated 5 sewing machines to MaZion ne Mapostori For E.D and encouraged them to begin sewing reusable sanitary pads and church garments so that incomes stay within their fold.
