The 2023 election winds

There is something about this year’s Harmonized Elections. It could be ordinary for some but in reality there’s more to it than meets the eye.

While many would want to classify it as a crunch election during which the “mango strategy” is being used, there are underlying winds that many cannot see.

I have said to a countless people, if the children of Zimbabwe will not defend this country from the regime change agenda and any attempts to reverse the gains of liberation, then the winds will do it.

It is foolhardy to think that with many still lying unburied in ditches, rivers and God knows wherever else, that they would allow their sacrifice to go to waste.

A visit to the Chimoio Shrine if at all there is any kind of unrest in this country, would reveal that the comrades are alive and fighting for their country.

Ask those who have gone to the shrine and talked bad about the chosen leaders. They will tell you stories about how cars engines have failed to ignite and how adamant behaviour has led to the cars blowing up.

The discipline which the gallant sons and daughters of Zimbabwe carry themselves even as they lie awaiting their descent burial has witnessed what many of us believe as the power of the spiritual world.

The determination with which they left their homes and loved ones to places unknown and with no knowledge of what to eat or wear and where to lay their heads to rest, will never allow the return of vapambepfumi.

Ask yourself how on earth the ruling Party ZANU PF already has a jump-start to the elections.

In reburial processes, the dead have appeared to young boys and girls in order to identify their shallow graves for proper reburial, and you think, they cannot protect the country they fought for?

The gruesome training of the military with such stunts as the black sabbath and the punishment given when one drops their gun teaches patriotism and the protection of one’s country.

No matter the difference in war tactics, the idea behind defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of one’s country cuts across the board.

This idea of envying the culture of other people has been a major drawback in us playing our part to developing Zimbabwe. Our exposure to social media and most times for things that are not at all constructive draws our minds far away from that which matters in life which is your identity; who you are and where you come from.

Which is why the masterstroke in President E.D Mnangagwa’s development and campaign mantra; Building the Zimbabwe we want together is alive and resonates very well with the winds that protect Zimbabwe.

Who if not the indigenes of Zimbabwe will protect it, rule it, develop it or even pray for it? It can only be the people that identify with Zimbabwe and are proud to be called Zimbabweans.

Never be fooled to think that the mango strategy of green on the outside and yellow on the inside will work. Be ye not fooled to think that your watermelon woodwinking strategy of appearing at ZANU PF rallies to acquire regalia and potray a picture of the masses will work because the winds of this country can never be fooled. If any have been doing it, beware because the sleeping dogs don’t lie.

ZANU PF is a People’s Party and has gained momentum and will swallow what was assumed to be an opposition.

The winds of Zimbabwe will defend their country even with the last man standing.

So what do we do ahead of 23 August 2023? Prepare our minds to build Zimbabwe and churn it to the achievement of vision 2030.

How do we do that? We go and vote resoundingly for ZANU PF and the principles that it stands for (unity, peace and development). We go and defend our territory, the heritage of the future generations. We go and protect the walls that have given us the peace we enjoy. We go and safeguard the sacrifice of our forefathers and those whom we would want to see reburied and given descent burial.

It is just a little over 40 days and time flies. Before we know it, this election will be over and we are back to building Zimbabwe. Let’s do so in a violent free manner knowing very well that Zimbabwe depends on each of us
