Revolutionary sister parties to the ruling ZANU PF Party say the inaugural War Veterans League Conference is an opportunity to share notes on how to take the struggle forward.

Cde Maquento Sebastião Lopes, member of CC and Director for International Relations of the MPLA of Angola said though the League has come a little too late, all focus must be on it.

“For us the invitation by ZANU PF to attend the conference is like an order that is why we are here. We share a lot with our sister Party and even though we just had our elections, we could not miss this important gathering,” he said.

“This is a very important event even though it has come too late because the war veterans who played an important role for the country’s independence were very young when they fought for their country. It’s an important even to focus all attention on.”

Also speaking upon his arrival, African National Congress’ President of Veterans League Cde Snuki Zikalala said it is an opportunity to exchange notes on how to take the struggle forward.

“We have good relations with ZANU PF and the the war veterans. Being here is an opportunity to exchange notes and on our bilaterals. We must exchange notes on how to take the struggle forward because the struggle is not yet over. The ANC has a lot to learn from ZANU PF and ZANU PF has a lot to learn from the ANC.”

Receiving the two delegates at the Robert Mugabe International Airport was ZANU PF’s Secretary for War Veterans League Cde Douglas K Mahiya.
