ZANU PF Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde John Paradza has challenged the youths to revisit the country’s history in order to appreciate the sacrifice made by the departed and living heroes and heroines of Zimbabwe.

Speaking ahead of the Heroes and Defence Forces celebrations, Cde Paradza said the youths pledge their support in working to develop their country.

“We as the ZANU PF Youth League join the President and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa in remembering the gallant sons and daughters of Zimbabwe both living and departed. Most of them participated in the liberation struggle when they were youths without a salary but with the ultimate goal to free their country from colonial rule. We remember them for the role that they played and for the blood that was shed,” Cde Paradza said.

“We as youths must revisit the history of our country as many of them do not know or have not been taught about how our country came.

“As the ZANU PF Youth League, we resolved that His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa will be our sole candidate for the forthcoming Harmonized Elections and so we will defend him with our vote. Let us defend our country just as those who died for the liberation of Zimbabwe. Let us defend the blood that was shed. Let us defend our President through our vote.”

Cde Paradza added that the Youth League is “happy with the development he has brought into the country under the New Dispensation whose main focus is vision 2030 of an upper middle income economy. President Mnangagwa has encouraged us to build our country ourselves through his message that Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo/Ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo. We pledge our support and will play our role as the Youth League in building our Zimbabwe.”
