Following the successful Provincial Elections which nominated people for National Youth League Executive, the party positions within the Youth League will be shared equally amongst provinces, Cde Tendai Chirau the Acting Deputy Secretary for Youth said in a circular.
According to the circular, which we are in possession of, delegates for the National Elective Conference will now arrive on the 4th May which is an adjustment from the previously announced arrival date of the 3rd May 2022.
A total of 2500 delegates are expected to attend the Youth Conference with each province allocated a definite number of delegates strictly proportionate to the number of political districts in their respective jurisdiction.
Cde Chirau said no nominees can apply for positions outside their ranking tier.
“Applications for positions can be submitted physically at ZANU PF Headquarters 9th floor or via official Youth League WhatsApp number” added Chirau
On sharing of positions equally he said:
“A nominee ranked No 1 from the Provincial elective nominations process will be eligible to apply for any post in the top 10 of the NEC” Chirau said
“Those nominated as number 2 from the Provincial elective nominations process will be eligible to apply for any position in the top 20 of the NEC” Chirau said
Those nominated as No 3 will also be eligible for any position in the top 30 and consequently those nominated as No 4 will be eligible for the remaining 10 positions in the NEC
The dates for accreditation to the National Elective Conference will be advised in due course.
Cde Chirau said preparations for the National Elective Conference are at an advanced stage and the Youth League is raring to go.
