The Chitepo School of Ideology in conjunction with the Public Service Academy is conducting an ongoing training of civil servants at various levels in a move aimed at properly orienting them to serve the New Dispensation.
Speaking during an interview in Harare this week, the Principal of the Chitepo School of Ideology Cde Munyaradzi Machacha said the Basic Orientation Course being offered to the Directors and Deputy Directors in all line Ministries is aimed at raising national awareness.
“The Basic Orientation Course is targeted at all Zimbabweans in all walks of life with the aim of raising national awareness of Zimbabwe’s past and current socio-economic and political programmes that the New Dispensation is implementing,” Cde Machacha said.
“It’s a programme designed to yield national cohesion and focusing people on developmental goals as the nation marches towards an upper middle economy by 2030”
So far nine five-day sessions each accommodating roughly 35 people have been held with the Public Service Commission leaderships expressing their satisfaction at the relevance of the training to improve service delivery.
Various participants have also noted that the training was long overdue with them identifying policy gaps they feel must be urgently attended to.
