ZANU PF Politburo member Cde Edna Madzongwe has challenged Party members to be accountable for duties assigned to them.
This she said during a clean-up campaign held at the Party Headquarters this Friday. The day which falls on the date that ZANU PF President and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa declared to be set aside for clean-up. The Department of Environment and Tourism within ZANU PF headed by the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa ensures that this declaration is followed to the letter and provides the necessary tools for the exercise to occur.
Many diseases come from unclean environment even more during this rainy season. The 3Rs principle of reduce, reuse and recycle has often been encouraged to help reduce waste which finds its way to the dumpsites and undesignated litter dumps.
Speaking during the clean-up campaign Cde Madzongwe said it is an honour and priviledge to be working at the Party Headquarters hence the need to uphold President Mnangagwa’s order.
“We are priviledged to be working at the nerve center of the Party which brought about the independence of this country and has formed Government since 1980. For this reason, we must uphold His Excellency, President E.D Mnangagwa’s directive to clean our environment every first Friday of the month, an initiative which was introduced under the New Dispensation,” Cde Madzongwe said.
“Keeping a clean environment here at the Party Headquarters will give a good impression about ZANU PF and there is need for each of us to be accountable for the duties we have been assigned.”
Staff members along with the Politburo member Cde Madzongwe cleaned the inside and outside premises of the Party during the stipulated time.
