ZANU PF WOMEN’S LEAGUE SECRETARY ELEVATED TO APU VICE PRESIDENT

ZANU PF’s Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona who is also Senate President in the Parliament of Zimbabwe has been elevated to be the Vice President of the African Parliamentary Union.
The African Parliamentary Union (APU) is a continental interparliamentary organization set up in Abidjan on 13th February, 1976 to promote unity of action among parliamentary institutions of all African States and to strive for the systematic establishment of an authentic law-based African community founded on the political, economic, social and cultural realities of the continent;
Cde Chinomona has been the Chairperson of the Women’s Committee of the same organization. The elevation comes at a time when the Secretary’s role in the empowerment of women in Zimbabwe has seen many women contributing immensely to the growth of the economy.
