ZANU PF Women’s League today received a shot in the arm from the Palestinian government as it works to improve the plight of women in the country.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe His Excellency Ambassador Tamer Almassri donated sanitary pads and washable and reversible face masks to the ZANU PF Women’s League at the Party’s Headquarters.

The Women’s League has various programmes among them the face mask production to assist in the fight against covid-19, income generation projects involving livestock and detergent production amongst others.

Speaking during the donation Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona expressed satisfaction at the relationship between the two countries.

“We share a friendship that goes a long way. We have always known that we can count on Palestine for support as we continue to uplift the lives of our women in the country,” Cde Chinomona said.

Secretary for Administration in the Women’s League Cde Monica Mutsvangwa expressed pleasure at Palestinian support for President and First Secretary of ZANU PF Cde E.D Mnangagwa.

“We are excited that we share a close relationship between our two countries Zimbabwe and Palestine which is really entangled. We are happy to grow the relations and are also happy that you are here to support the leader of our country Cde E.D Mnangagwa,” Cde Mutsvangwa said.

“We hope to improve the relations between our countries as we share the same historical background as we have been in the trenches together.”

The Women’s League also gave a gift of a jacket made from the National fabric which the Ambassador appreciated very much.

“I have always wanted something made with a Zimbabwean touch and at some point tasked one of my staff to look for a scarf like that worn by the President but he failed,” said the Ambassador.
