Palestine has called for the unconditional removal of the illegal sanctions against Zimbabwe.
The call comes ahead of the day set aside by SADC which falls on the 25th of October.
His Excellency Ambassador Tamer Almassri made the call during a meeting with the ZANU PF Women’s League at the Party’s Headquarters in Harare today.
“Our sister countries share the same principles and the same pain as we have fought together. We stand in solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe as we call for the removal of sanctions,” the Ambassador said.
“It is our duty to tell the new generation how much we have struggled together against Israeli occupation and apartheid.”
The Ambassador expressed his pleasure at the way the ZANU PF Women’s League is working tirelessly to ensure that women in the country are uplifted from poverty.
In their acceptance speeches both the Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona and Secretary for Administration in the Women’s League Cde Monica Mutsvangwa expressed their gratitude to the Palestinian government for the continued support.
“We share a friendship that goes a long way. We have always known that we can count on Palestine for support as we continue to uplift the lives of our women in the country,” said Cde Chinomona.
“We are very excited that we share a close relationship between the two countries Zimbabwe and Palestine which is really entangled. We are happy to grow the relations and are also happy that you are here to support the leader of our country Cde E.D Mnangagwa,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
“We hope to improve the relations between our countries as we share the same historical background as we have been in the trenches together.”
Women’s League extended its pleasure at the opportunity of exchanges between the two countries as they highlighted that there is a lot to learn from the women in Palestine.
The Ambassador commended ZANU PF Women’s League for being hardworking in improving the plight of women in the country.
A donation of sanitary pads and washable and reversible masks was made by Palestine to aid the Women’s League in its endeavors.
