September-the beginning of a new season

September is the month of my birth and several other cousins among then Nokuthula (The Mother of Peace), who comes exactly 8 days after my own birth just as our first born children. September is also the month during which our beloved grandmother, Helmina was taken from us, also just a few days before my own birthday, May her soul rest in peace.

Coincidentally this same month is the birth month of my great, visionary leader’s birthday, His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. It is also the month during which Zimbabwe’s Founding Father, the late President His Excellency Robert Gabriel Mugabe died.

This month is indeed a month filled with its uniqueness and power so amazing that it has also become the beginning of a new season, and given birth to another term of the Second Republic.

President Mnangagwa was inaugurated, this 4th day of September, giving him another term to deliver on the promises he made to the people of Zimbabwe. It is the beginning of a delivery never seen before and more so as he must show the people that trusted him, the reason he is in office.

His re-election comes at a time when hope has been built for Zimbabwe in ushering the country into a Middle-Income society by the year 2030. Giving him this opportunity to further that vision, is borne out of the trust that the people of Zimbabwe have given him, along with those long departed who still lie unburied in the country’s neighboring countries, thanks to the sacrifices they made to free the country from colonial rule.

As though in understanding the vision of one they fought alongside, those in the shallow graves have ensured this legendary man goes another mile to bring the people they fought for, out of abject poverty.

When the gods have determined something to happen, nothing can stop it. I hope the detractors of this man’s vision have seen it. I am not only talking to men and women who have openly chosen to stand on the opposite sides but also to those who pretend to stand with him, when they know fully well that they are not for him.

One thing that is clear is that there are companies who have stood with this man and his vision.

Looking back at the campaign trail and how DCK and Chicken Slice clearly stood out to be associated with this man, it is clear that they are the enlightened ones who have also seen beyond the today and now.

They literally injected their time and products into the campaign feeding many who attended the Presidential Star rallies. I know one might say, they were paid to provide the meals, but how many in the same line of business opted to get paid?

There is a clear objective about this Second Republic. That clear objective is to work and build the country using both human and other local resources and being part of that is the wisest decision anyone can ever make. What each of us chooses is very clear in the actions that we make.

It reminds me of President Mnangagwa’s prayers during his Star rallies, that God would see the hearts of the men and women gathered there. God did see the hearts of men and women gathered there and gave the hearts that which they desired and deserved, which is a good servant leader. President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa was re-elected into office.

Today, in front of his counterparts in the region among them Democratic Republic of Congo DRC President, His Excellency President Felix Tshisekedi and Mozambique President, His Excellency President Filipe Nyusi, that he would serve his countrymen.

There is something about taking that oath that sets you apart. It should not be taken lightly that a revolutionary leader who underwent the guiding principles and process of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle can simply throw in the towel of not serving his people.

This is why many have questioned some men and their character. The liberation struggle brings out that sense of servitude like no other. It creates in you a heart that goes beyond yourself. This is the reason why President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is back in office. Those who have eyes have seen and those with ears heard.

All I can say is welcome to the next five years. Welcome to development. Welcome to the attainment of vision 2030. Welcome to innovation guaranteed. Welcome to what the eyes have not seen and ears have not heard. Welcome to the Second Republic’s Second Term
