ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Cde Obert Mpofu has applauded the President and First Secretary of the Party His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa for formalising the returnees saying this move resonates with the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
Speaking during the Policy and Coordination meeting this Monday at the Party Headquarters, Cde Mpofu noted that the Party is geared to ensuring a resounding victory in this year’s Harmonized Elections.
“The Returnees have finally been formalized and assimilated into our mass Party by His Excellency, the President and First Secretary Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa over this past weekend,” Cde Mpofu said.
“This resonates with the mantra of ‘Leaving No One and No Place Behind.’ We applaud and welcome especially the Tsvangirai brother, Collins for the bold move to join the ruling Party. This will go a long way even to show our detractors who are intent on sowing divisions within ourselves that we are one people. The onus is now on the Commissariat Department to ensure that this new membership and personnel are well accommodated and made to feel at home.”
3000 returnees took part in the launch of the Operation Huyayi Kumusha/Come Home/Buyanini Ekhaya KHE which started around April 2021. The event held under the theme “We Heard The Call, We Voluntarily Came, Adding Value to Nation Building.”
President Mnangagwa was clear last Saturday in his address that “The Party remains a dominant and popular force which is forever committed to wholeheartedly serve. Our arms remain outstretched to welcome those who want to be members of our Party. In this regard, those who are still in the opposition are welcome and ZANU PF will continue to facilitate their return home.”
Over the years many have heeded to the call and voluntarily come. To this Cde Blessing Chebundo one of the early returnees says “What inspired us were your words on 24 November 2017, ‘We must all work together we are all important to the economy.’” Cde Chebundo says these are the words he always preaches to others.
