ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Cde Obert Mpofu says the engagement with the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator will help forge ahead with international institutions.
This he said soon after a courtesy call paid by the UN Representative Mr Edward Kallon at the Party Headquarters this Tuesday.
“We discussed quite a variety of issues ranging from politics, economics and many other issues that affect the livehood of Zimbabwe vis- a-vis our involvement with the United Nations,” Cde Mpofu said.
“It was quite refreshing to hear what the Representative had to say about his perspectives about Zimbabwe which were quite clear as to how the world views Zimbabwe. We discussed some details and some of the issues which I think will help us forge ahead with our engagement with the International Institutions.”
On his part Mr Kallon expressed his appreciation for ZANU PF adding that necessary steps must be taken for the country to reproduce itself.
“I must say that this has been a very productive engagement from ZANU PF Principals and it has been an opportunity for me to understand better the political dynamics in Zimbabwe and also to appreciate the fact that ZANU PF is a product of a protracted effort over the years,” Kallon said.
“It has been really a pleasure to learn and understand the dynamics better. I still believe that Zimbabwe is a promise for Southern Africa and that the necessary will be required to let Zimbabwe reproduce itself.”
The meeting was also attended by ZANU PF Secretary for National Security Cde Lovemore Matuke and various Party Directors while UN delegation included Mr Mfaro Moyo who is the Governance and Political Advisor as well as Mr Sirak Gebrehiwot the UN Communications Specialist.
